Worthless Gun Proposals Follow Bondi Beach

Laws don't stop those hell bent on destruction, only those wanting self-defense.

Australian leaders promised to immediately overhaul already-tough gun control laws after a mass shooting targeted a Hanukkah celebration on Sydney’s Bondi Beach. Why? Because unlike all of the hundreds or even thousands of previous gun regulations, the next one is guaranteed to end all killings with a gun. Yes, sarcasm! I said it before; I’ll say it again. Anyone hell bent on destruction… will destroy. Those types don’t care if they get caught… especially if suicidal.

At least 15 people died in the Australian attack, and at least 38 other people are/were being treated in hospitals. The attack has fueled criticism that authorities are not doing enough to combat a surge in antisemitic crimes… because authorities can’t. See last paragraph. Anyone hell bent…. That’s right!

Among the new measures proposed would be a limit on the number of guns someone can own. This is a silly attempt by those with small minds. Unless one has eight arms like an octopus, one can only hold two pistols/revolvers at a time. A shooter would have to drop at least one in order to reload. In addition, unlike in the movies, no one is going to be handling and firing more than one rifle at a time. Kickback and weight distribution requires two arms for the average person. Hence, once a person is armed with guns #1 and #2, owning guns #3 and up become pretty much irrelevant.

Another proposal would be a review of licenses held over time, because… we all know that murderers and killers will apply for a license, and then patiently wait ten years before committing their deadly acts. Yes, more sarcasm... because anyone who thinks licensing makes a difference isn’t thinking like a criminal.

Those, and other actions, would allegedly represent a significant update to the landmark national firearms agreement, which virtually banned rapid-fire rifles, following a gunman killing 35 people in Tasmania in 1996. Sorry, but any updates won’t stop the next hell bent, psycho nut-job. It only deters those seeking self-defense.

Of course, politicians must be seen as doing something because most people, emotionally, can’t deal with senseless evil deeds – something that has existed forever and will continue to do so. Hence, Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese stated, “The government is prepared to take whatever action is necessary. Included in that is the need for tougher gun laws.” Again, anyone hell bent...

The police shot the two suspected gunmen, a father and son. Good! The 50-year-old father died at the scene. Good! His 24-year-old son remained in a coma in hospital as of Monday. Good! In my opinion, pull any plug that may be keeping him alive.

I never mention a murderer’s name, but I will mention the name of the man who apparently tackled and disarmed one apparent assailant, before pointing the man’s weapon at him, then setting the gun on the ground - Ahmed al Ahmed. You are fine citizen that everyone should be proud of. You risked your life and received a shot in the shoulder for your efforts. May you heal quickly.
