Vaccine Mandates vs. Personal Autonomy

Florida is set to eliminate all vaccine mandates. It's a win for personal autonomy.

Florida is planning to end all vaccination requirements in the state, including requirements for school children to get routine childhood vaccinations that allegedly protect them and their communities from severe and life-threatening diseases, such as whooping cough, diphtheria, measles, tetanus, RSV, and polio.

A lot of people aren’t going to like that I used the word “allegedly” in that sentence. Granted, while many vaccines have decades of proven protection, others do not. Experts like to say that the Covid vaccine saved millions of lives. That’s impossible to know. Why? Take me, for example. I took no vaccine, contracted Covid, was sick for one day, and fine the next. Had I gotten the vaccine, the government would have said the vaccine saved my life, even though that wouldn’t have been true. Dying “with” Covid is not the same as dying strictly “from” Covid. It’s believed that 94% of deaths involved those with underlying conditions. I won’t even get into the “cause of death” on death certificates fiasco.

Florida’s Surgeon General, Joseph Ladapo, stated, "What I'm most excited about is an announcement that we're making now, which is that the Florida Department of Health, in partnership with the governor, is going to be working to end all vaccine mandates in Florida law… every last one of them."

To that, I say, “Great!” However, do not interpret that as me being anti-vaccine. I am not. I actually recommend a number of them. On the other hand, I also believe that Big Pharma has conned us into thinking we need more vaccines than we actually do. Scare tactics work great. Most of us will never have our house burn down, yet we all buy insurance to cover such a loss. You never hear anyone running around claiming that buying insurance kept their house from turning into cinders.

I really don’t care what one’s beliefs about vaccines are, be it pro or con. What I do care about… is bodily autonomy and the freedom to choose what one does with their own body, including what one puts into it. Laws that require a person to inject, swallow, or otherwise put something into their body that they may oppose is nothing more than medical rape. Those who cry, “My body, my choice” as a medical choice, seemingly have no problem forcing vaccines upon others. It’s hypocrisy.

Others will cry, “we must protect the vulnerable.” Sorry, not if it requires force. One person’s vulnerability is not a viable excuse to impose actions upon the other 99% of society. It’s unethical and dictatorial, and should not occur in any free society.

If Florida moves forward with the plans, they will become the only state in the country to not have vaccination requirements for public school attendance. Let’s be honest, not fearful. Even if every state eliminated every vaccine mandate, most of us would still “get the insurance” due to the innate fear of our “medical house” being turned to ashes.
