Are Liberals Falling Out of Love with EVs
Liberals just may be proving that politics is more important than their environmental moralism.

US liberals have become so disgusted with Elon Musk, that they are now far less likely to purchase a Tesla vehicle. That’s fine, every person has the right to buy whatever car they want, and for whatever reason. However, the same study also shows that they are less willing to buy any type of electric car.
So the liberals, who love to scream about saving the environment from atop their moral high-horse, have just proven… that politics is more important. They have proven that the environment is nothing more than a political agenda, and not a actual real-life concern. Follow the money, people. Follow the money!
While liberals claimed mostly positive intentions around buying an electric car in August of ‘23, their overall support for EVs has fallen off a cliff in the wake of Elon Musk aligning with conservative politics.
Alexandra Flores, a psychologist at Williams College, and lead author of the study, which was published in Nature (an environmental magazine), stated, “The suspicion is that Elon Musk became so synonymous with EVs in the US, that perceptions of him affected the entire class of vehicles. This made them way less appealing to liberals.”
Meanwhile, on the other side of the coin, the study found that Musk’s right-wing shift has not made conservative Americans more likely to buy a Tesla or any electric car. Now, I know politics is just politics, and this is only one example, but… who’s party is the disingenuous party when one man can influence your environmentally moral high-ground?
Heck, liberals even considered buying an EV to be more important than installing solar panels. Not anymore! They are now equally unlikely to buy any EV, as they are a Tesla. EV sales in the US dipped year-on-year, and sales are likely to dip further with the elimination of $7,500 tax credit for buying one. Again, follow the money!
Erin Keating, executive analyst at Cox Automotive, stated that total market share for EVs may not break 10% this year, as previously forecast. If you listen to my podcast, you may recall… that I long predicted that EV’s will never make up more than 25% of all vehicles. There are too many shortcomings, and mandates will likely be pushed back time and time again – perhaps even eliminated. Good! Mandates are the opposite of personal choice and freedom.
It not just liberals. Both major parties seem to support “selective freedom”, not true freedom. In this case, it is the liberals proving politics and dollar signs are far more important than their ‘trust the science’ mantra. Yes, follow the money!
